Maryam Abdallah
General Board, Chairperson
Maryam comes from a diverse spiritually-focused background. Her family
practiced Islam early on and transitioned back to the Christian faith during her
childhood. Her family roots run deep in the Baptist tradition, attending church all
day on Sunday, Bible study on Wednesday and vacation Bible school in the
summer.
Maryam was introduced to New Covenant in 1996 as a freshman in college and
has served in various roles and ministries along the way. She believes that faith in
God and the practice of that faith goes beyond the church walls, it happens in
homes, in communities, with our neighbors, friends and strangers. She is
passionate about being able to show up fully and whole in her faith at New
Covenant and desires to hold space for others to do the same.
