Rev. Tara Faith Williams, M.Div

Senior Pastor

Rev. Tara Williams is a 3rd generation minister with a strong passion and calling for children and youth and to serve all God's people lovingly. She holds a Master of Divinity Degree from Vanderbilt Divinity School and a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Ashford University. Pastor Tara also holds the Kelly Miller Smith Institute’s (KMSI) Certificate in Black Church Studies, a program built to support students who desire to expand their knowledge and appreciation of the historical, theological, and liberative praxis dimensions of the Black Church tradition.

Elder Bill Friskics-Warren

Board of Directors, Chairperson

Rev. Bill Friskics-Warren is an ordained Disciples minister who has been engaged in social justice work in Nashville since the late 1980s. He has an M.Div. from Vanderbilt Divinity School, where his vision of ministry was inspired by Gustavo Gutierrez, one of the founders of Latin American liberation theology, and Laura McCray, a lay minister who founded Luke 14:12, a hospitality ministry for unhoused people sponsored by Nashville’s Edgehill United Church. Bill and his wife, Kaki, who is also an ordained Disciples minister, have been members of New Covenant since 1988.

Elder Valerie Griffin

Elder, Chairperson

Valerie has been a believer since the age of 7 and was baptized into the Disciples of Christ. As a New Covenant Christian Church (DOC) member for over 16 years, she continues to bring her gifts to others through her ministry within the church. She draws close to the Spirit through daily prayer, stillness, and listening. 

Deacon Chan Williams

Deacon, Chairperson

Chan has served as a committed member of New Covenant Christian Church (DOC) since 2014. His servant's heart led him to become a Deacon, serving as Deacon Chair in the congregation since 2017. He supports the church's mission through his many gifts, including serving the Media Ministry as a sound engineer and audio-visual aid and his active involvement with the NCCC Disciples Men, offering theological insight, prayer, and direct support in events and planning.

Carlo Hyde

Finance, Chairperson

Carlo uses his many gifts to serve as part of New Covenant's dedicated financial team. He and his team work to ensure that NCCC is a good steward of the financial contributions sown by members of the congregation and the community at large.
